Extractions to Snowflake with Basic Authentication fail (PUT statement failed)

Error:

"Theobald.Distillery.Destinations.SnowflakeClientException: PUT statement failed" and "Error encountered when executing file upload".

Reason:

Snowflake now enforces multi-factor authentication, see Snowflake: Enforcement Timeline. As a result, extractions that still use basic authentication may fail.

Solution:

Set up Key Pair authentication or OAuth in the Destination Details, see Xtract Universal Documentation: Snowflake Authentication.
